Brand new and very cheap via Keiryu Rod Co (cheaper than Japanese retail). I’ve been wanting a Japanese rod… and out of the box, it’s so incredibly light and beautiful. I can’t wait to use it. I had a RS 400 before. It was a very nice rod from what I remember. You won’t be disappointed. ---

I have only fished/casted the 320 and 360 in the 6:4 model. I think they are hands down the best rods. I suspect the 7:3 are of the same quality. ---

That was my very first tenkara rod that was made in Japan. It was an eye opener! I selected that one as a do everything type choice at a good price. Led me down a path that has me now owning “more than a couple”. You made an excellent choice. ---

As others have already said, these are excellent rods. Tony don’t hesitate to ask me for a favor lol, we go waaaaaaay back. I personally prefer the visuals of the newer Nissin Level Line rods, which are an update to the Royal Stage 6:4 models. ---

Thanks everyone for your feedback so far! It confirms what I’ve been feeling and I’m happy to have made a good choice. Thanks Chris! I’ll take you up on your offer of APO assistance some time. We do go way back, to when the only things that I was throwing were boxes labeled MPS or thick bass lines 😉 Maybe you can get me a sweet deal on a Tenryu TF39TA 😉 I have been trying to coordinate with getting rods bought and mailed to me by my in-laws, but some how my cards are not working on Japanese websites (no credit card since 2002 - just debits). I haven’t been trying too hard - but if I keep running into barriers, I’ll let you know. I don’t mean to change the topic to a different Japanese rod, but here is one that I’ve been trying to get for my son. I know nothing about this brand, except that they look neat and are mildly affordable. The Sprout comes in an appealing orange color and is only 8 feet long… good for my kid and one that I might like to take on a nearby small stream. Back to talking about the Nissin rods. I’ve had the Royal Stage 360 7:3. It is an excellent rod and is one of the best tenkara rods available. You made an excellent choice.
