Thank you Gressak. Yes I built a lot of tamos and before fishing I have to choose the one that fit the lenght of the fish I hope to catch .Here are a few tamos displayed in my japanese garden:
Yesterday I went to fish on a river with pretty nice fish, so I choose my largest tamo.
Bad choice I only caught tiny trout, mostly with a black kebari
Oni soit qui mal y pense ( a joke for our English friends)
How do you like that riverworks?
So good! I tactical nymph pretty much exclusively and this rod is perfect for me when there is the room. It casts a weighted fly on 2.5 fluorocarbon beautifully. I couldn’t ask for more. Highly recommended.
Thanks
My pleasure. Let me know if you would like any more info on the rod.
Awesome rainbow trout I caught recently in Southeast Idaho that had a lot of interesting yellow color on the belly.
From what I’ve read more intense colors seem to indicate a more varied diet and / or minerals in the water. Pretty fish. Very hot and low water here. May try some fishing again for a couple of weeks, after my son comes home for a visit this coming weekend.
I went out to a honryu type river today. It’s in a small city about a 30 minutes drive away from me. The water conditions were not very good, we haven’t had rain for almost 2 months. A short sprinkle here and there but not even enough to get the ground wet. Yesterday morning we got our first decent rain.
Only one fish today, I think because of the poor water conditions.
18.5” (47cm) Yes, I measured it because I brought it home. I was going to put her back and I noticed blood on one of my hands. Flipped her over and saw a gash down the side of her head. I’m guessing it was an egret as they are everywhere this year. Not to mention I saw an adult and two juveniles down stream from where I was.
Wow, what a beautiful brown trout. Way to go Peder!!!
I’m really looking forward to receiving this rod in October. The rod and fish are a perfect match.
Lovely cutbow…
I thought that I would revive this thread.
We had a nice PMD hatch at sunup this morning.
As I was getting my rod setup, 6 of these baby otters popped out from under a rock and started wrestling and playing about 10 feet (3m) in front of me, completely oblivious of me. Sorry for the bad photo. I was so shocked to see them so close, I nearly forgot to get my phone out to get a photo.
Living in Northern Kentucky I don’t get to fish for trout often, but I did last Sunday evening with my Dragontail Hydra. Caught my first trout on Tenkara using a #18 Parachute Adams.
I don’t take a LOT of pictures, but I wanted this one. Dropped my phone in about knee deep water and almost lost him reaching for it.
