She caught her first trout on a tenkara rod last summer. This one was on a spinning rod.

It is fun getting the kids into it, sometimes challenging though I was able to get my son up to the river recently and we lucked out with a nice warm day. There was a little winter stone fly hatch going so he was able to catch a number off dries using a Karasu rod.
