Have any of you purchased a Tenkara Rod from any Seller in Japan? If you have, what tariff costs did you have to deal with? I’m trying to figure out what the additional cost will be added to a Tenkara rod I have on order before I place my order to buy. The Seller has not been able to provide the information on the possible tariff charges I would be looking at once the rod arrives in the USA. Any input would be appreciated.

I haven’t since the tariffs were imposed for Japanese goods but the current rate is 15% so I would expect to pay that.

I decided to bite the bullet and ordered a Tenryu Furaibo TF39&A from Plat.co and my rod arrived today, and was shipped to the USA by DHL. The tariff charges amounted to $59.46 and this tariff fee was paid directly to
DHL. DHL was very good with their shipping and kept sending me tracking information to keep me informed on where my package was while enroute to my location. Just thought I’d pass along this information. FredSG
Ya I got bitten by the tariffs, $130 rod $80 tariff, ebay seller did not know and DHL held it till I paid. When I found out the amount tried to send it back to seller offering to pay shipping cost, but they would not take in back. i love the rod though, Uzaki Nissin 360.
FYI. Many nissin rods can be had on amazon without the import fees.
Often mislabeled… like the nissin zerosum is listed: nissin zero thumb.
