Got out and used it for the first time today.
Our weather has been all over the place lately, and I think the warm water fish are in shock.
I wasn’t able to get anything to take.
Rigged it up with about 4m of 3.5LL and a few feet of tippet, tried a couple small streamers and other weighted flies to see how it felt.
So massive and heavy!
I think it’s going to be fun when I’m able to get a decent fish on, but until I either go to big trout water or it warms up here, I’ll probably put it away haha

Well it isn’t for dinkers for sure, Tenkara Angler’s uses this rod for carp fishing.

Yeah I need to put this thing away until I stand a chance to actually get a big fish with it, otherwise I’ll get bored and sell it.
I think I’ll get some really heavy line, like a 4 or 4.5… In the spring one of my local haunts gets carp and suckers. Another nearby fills up with gar, but I’m worried the new beaver dam below it has killed the section of water, it’s almost barren currently.

Be careful with Beaver Fever (Giardia lamblia) when fishing in the pond around them. In some areas of Northern Canada they dynamite their homes. I bet that would be a blast. (Sorry for the bad pun.)
