サツキマス Satsukimasu salmon

Recently the life of shokuryōshi on the streams of Japan has been a subject of discussion. After by chance finding a beautifully filmed video about サツキマス Satsukimasu salmon. A fish found on Japanese streams. I figured - why not a bit about the life of a species of fish also found in their streams?

Note on the above webpage - Yoshikazu Fujioka - below the Sakuramasu Group - classifies subspecies as:
Yamame (sakuramasu)
Amago (satsukimasu)

There seems to be some confusion or lack of agreement on scientific names vs common names. However, wikipedia has less than a solid reputation for being accurate. The confusion may be their’s and not the biologists.
