True, I think overall it’ll be something I will greatly consider in the future for the packability (ended up getting another oni and remembering why I loved it so much for the current moment), and for all I know after I get one maybe it’ll be the rod for me and I’ll be letting people know =D.
Hi Adam. You can go to Hardware Supply Stores ( like Ace ) and many have O-ring files where loose o-rings are stocked in little pull-out drawers by size. It helps to know the inside/outside diameters and the thickness of the o-ring you need but, you can just take the rod part in the store with you and fit it by hand yourself. If you feel uncomfortable about doing that, you can clear it with the Customer Service Department and they will probably page a team member to assist you with locating and fitting the right sized o-ring for your needs.
Auto Supply Shops are another possibility but you probably do not need Fuel-Grade O-rings for this intended purpose, but if the Auto Supply is more convenient they would work just as well and not cost all that much more…Karl.
This is very important information, Adam. Thank you. Did you order the new O-rings directly from Tenryu, or did you order through Keiichi at Tenkara-Ya?
I absolutely love my Furaibo 39 and 39TA. The TA feels stiffer with the shorter sections, but they both have excellent fit and finish and cast smoothly. The 39TA is an amazing piece of engineering with all of those thin, short sections, while maintaining the flex. The bend profile of the Furaibo 39 is amazing to me.
