The old kebari pattern ”kagasira-hari"

Explanation of ”蚊頭針”・・・“Mosquito needle” literal translation
・・・It is for all river fish

It is a generic term for various sizes, various colors, various types

“鮎毛鉤 ayu-kebari” is a kebari whose target fish is specialized for “鮎=Ayu”

Forgotten world

It has also been announced at the same time in Japan

Because it is a personal blog, influence may be small
but
It has not been introduced in detail until now

かがしら釣り , kagashira fishing. Blog post. May 1, 2006.
The English translation is very inconsistent.
For example, the title, かがしら釣り, is translated as “damned fishing”. Not as "kagashira fishing.
In the text 「かがしら釣り」is translated as "shaggy fishing. 「カゲロウ」`kagerō’ is translated as “kakeru”, ok I guess, but it is “mayfly”. And 「蚊頭」, “kagashira” is translated as “mosquito head”. Also ok, I think, because 蚊・頭, will also translate as “mosquito head”. The sentence ending in “… became a victim of a single Gon” Is about one by one the animals (fish) escaped leaving a single one left. [ In which case, maybe the seemingly odd translation of the title was correct  ]

カガシラ釣り?Kagashira fishing ? Blog post from 2014-04-22.
This link if one that is within a translation window. Though as always. The translation is not so good.
カガシラ釣り?

I do not know what the difference is, or if there is a difference, between the flies used for kagashira fishing and the kaga-kebari. 加賀毛鉤.
Maybe the only difference is the target fish and the method of fishing.

Here is a 15 minute video.
#023 加賀毛鉤のルーツを探る.- # 023 Exploring the Roots of Kaga Kebari.
The fisherman is 鈴木康友, Suzuki Yasutomi ( or Yasutomo). He fishes with one of those funny rods with a reel. And of course it is in Japanese language. But the old pictures are kind of fun.

There is also another video, which I can not find, with a similar title. However, from the still photos from the video it seems to be the same video, only with a different preceding number.
第27回 加賀毛鉤のルーツを探る, The 27th Exploring the roots of Kaga Kebari.
A few interesting photos to cycle through.

This web-page is pretty interesting despite the crazy translation into English.

カガシラとエノハ テンカラ・フライ以前の毛ばり釣り
Kagashira and Enoha Tenkara · Fly Before (previous to) Kebari Fishing.

But first. You may wonder - what is Enoha (エノハ) ?
A word for Japanese Salmon, aka Yamame & Amago.
[ A tip that might help discover what some Japanese word means. For an internet search phrase type : (unknown word) followed by “to ha” ( とは) or followed by “tte nani” (って何).
Either phrase means “what is”. Examples: エノハとは = “what is enoha?”. エノハって何 = “what is enoha”. Really って何 should be って何ですか ( tte nani desuka). エノハって何ですか = “What is Enoha?” At least that often works for me. Adding とは is easier]. And as you will see on the next web-page, it is often used.

エノハとは? What is Enoha?
http://www.enoha.net/enoha01.htm

Anyway, the translation of the following website isn’t too bad, good enough to get the drift of the author’s observations.

However, the opening sentence where is may translate as - tenkara - fly before hair fly - read it as - Tenkara - fly before kebari fishing. And read fishing fishing - as - mountain stream fishing.

For the section titles: Mascara = Kagashira should read Kebari = Kagashira.
Tenkara and fries, should be Tenkara and Fly.
Where is says - the way to catch the squirrel (haya) should read - the way to catch the (white hae, aka Oikawa. ( shirahae = シラハエ = 白ハエ )
Use your helper とは. [ シラハエとは , What is shirahae?]

Of course I do not know if the author’s opinion is correct or widely held, but it is an interesting view.

Even Japanese people have confusion with misunderstanding
I will consider how to explain

Hook =針・鈎・鉤=hari・・・It has the same meaning kanji(漢字)
It changes according to how to read・・・針・鈎・鉤=hari=bari
・・・○○+hari = ○○+kebari (It has the same meaning)

As a generic term kebari (毛鉤)

Classification of difference between size and target fish

Small size~Big size・・・・・・・・・・・・・・
kagasira-hari(蚊頭-針) = ka-ba-ri (蚊-針)
ka(蚊)gasira(kabari)・ hae(蠅)-gasira・hati(蜂)-gasira ・ (tyou)蝶-hari
Mosquitoesーflyー beesー butterflies

for target fish・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・
kagasira-hari(蚊頭)・・・・・All river fish(hasu・haya・oikawa ets + hari(bari)
ayu-kebari(鮎毛鉤)・・・・・・ayu(鮎)only

This difference is historically close to the difference between traditional feather wing · full dress salmon fly and wet fly

Local name・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・
sirahae(シラハエ)enoha(エノハ)=山女魚(yamame)

hae(ハエ)=haya(ハヤ) =ugui(ウグイ)

Thank you both @dwalker and @todoroki34. That helps my understanding. I know that some words change sound in Japanese depending on how they are used, but I forget the rules.
