The Ovens basin has the Ovens River, Buckland River and countless creeks, all holding Browns and Bows…
Thank you for a pleasant video
You are good at bow casting
Nice fish, Nick! Looks like a winning place!
Thanks very much! Sometimes I find myself bow casting instead of proper casting, as I get so used to doing bow casting on some rivers and creeks…
Thanks very much, Tom! It’s a lovely part of the world, and I hope to explore more of the smaller creeks there over the years to come.
Thank you for sharing! Nice rivers and fish.
Cool video. Thank you for posting it.
Thanks! They certainly are. Be a while before I can get there again.
Thakns for watching it and enjoying it, JeffR!
Some of those strikes were pretty far out. What length line were you using?
Beautiful looking country, I would love to go tenkara-ing in New Zealand some day.
Hello Isaac/Fallfish,
With the Confluence rod (which is a two-length rod, 10.5 feet and 12 feet), I was using a 12 feet long level line and almost three feet of tippet, split into halves for my hopper and dropper.
With the Watershed 300Z (which is another two-length rod, 8 feet 10 and 10 feet 2), I was using an 8 feet long level line again almost three feet of tippet, split into halves for my hopper and dropper.
